DBC Craft Privacy Policy

The short version #

DBC Craft collects nothing. It has no account, analytics, telemetry, advertising, tracking or third-party SDKs. Your CAN databases and everything in them stay on your Mac. AVV Systems operates no server for the app, and DBC Craft never uploads your files.

What DBC Craft does with your files #

DBC Craft opens files that you select through the standard macOS open panel or Finder. It reads their contents locally to show and validate nodes, messages, signals and other CAN database information.

Edits, comparisons, imports, exports and code generation also run locally. DBC Craft writes only when you save a document or choose an export destination. The App Sandbox limits access to files and folders you explicitly select.

If you open or save a file in iCloud Drive or another file-provider location, macOS and that provider may sync it according to your account settings. DBC Craft does not perform or control that transfer.

What is stored on your Mac #

DBC Craft stores a small number of local interface preferences, including the selected floating-point representation for generated code and macOS window restoration state. These preferences contain no database content and are removed when the app’s container is deleted.

The app does not maintain a server-side account, document database, analytics history or cloud backup. Your documents remain wherever you choose to save them.

Purchases #

The standard DBC Craft edition offers DBC Craft Pro as a one-time purchase through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment and provides the app with verified product and entitlement information. DBC Craft does not receive your payment details, Apple Account, name or contact information.

The standard edition’s only network use is Apple’s StoreKit purchase and restore flow. It contains no other networking code and connects to no AVV Systems service. Purchase data is handled under Apple’s Privacy Policy.

DBC Craft Pro, the organisation-licensed edition distributed through Apple Business Manager, contains no purchasing code and has no network entitlement.

For App Store receipt validation, both editions compare the receipt with the app’s bundle identifier and the primary network interface’s hardware address on the Mac. This check happens locally. DBC Craft does not store or transmit the hardware address.

Support email #

Help ▸ Contact Support opens a draft in your default email app. Nothing is sent unless you send it. The draft includes the DBC Craft version, edition and macOS version so that support can identify the build. It does not include filenames, database contents, diagnostics or attachments.

You may edit the draft or attach a file yourself. If you contact us, we use the information you choose to send only to respond to the request and retain the correspondence only as long as needed for support.

What DBC Craft does not do #

  • No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or usage measurement.
  • No advertising, ad identifiers or tracking across apps or websites.
  • No accounts, sign-in or cloud sync operated by AVV Systems.
  • No third-party SDKs.
  • No selling or sharing of personal information.

This matches the app’s privacy manifest, which declares no tracking and no collected data types. The manifest declares access to UserDefaults for app functionality; that local preference storage is not data collection.

Permissions #

DBC Craft uses the macOS App Sandbox and requests read and write access only to files and folders you choose. Choosing one file does not grant broad access to the rest of the disk. DBC Craft does not request access to Contacts, Photos, Location, Camera, Microphone or other protected personal data.

Children #

DBC Craft is rated 4+ and contains no user-generated or age-restricted content. It collects no data from anyone, including children.

Your rights #

AVV Systems holds no app-generated personal data on a server, so there is no account or remote profile to access, export, correct or erase. Local documents and settings remain under your control. If you contact support, you may ask us to delete that correspondence by writing to .

Changes to this policy #

If a future DBC Craft release changes these practices, this policy will be updated before that release is distributed, and the last-updated date will change.
